Although there is historical evidence, including excavations, archaeological remains, research studies, and inscriptions, confirming the ancient history of Eelam Tamils in Tamileelam (The motherland of the Eelam Tamil Nation), the successive Sri Lankan governments have consistently destroyed historical heritage places and replaced them with new Sinhala Buddhist constructions, as part of the protracted Tamil genocide and Sinhala Buddhist genocidal colonization.
Therefore, there is a crucial requirement to protect historical places, temples, archaeological remains, inscriptions, and our territorial integrity that represent Eelam Tamil from the Sri Lankan government and to raise global awareness about them when they are in danger. We urge Eelam Tamils living in the motherland and the diaspora to join this effort and safeguard our land and history.
